“When the parent tries to be a friend, they share inappropriate emotional burdens. There is a risk of 'parentification,' and children feel responsible for the emotional well-being of adults. Never discuss every topic in front of them, involve them in marital disagreements or personal concerns. Teaching the difference between roles is a fundamental social skill. Clear boundaries are needed to raise them freer, stronger and more aware,” says expert Claudia Denti.

At the FSNews Radio microphones a new appointment dedicated to books because it was released on June 18 in all bookstores and digital stores, "Impara a dire No". A text written by Severino Cirillo and Claudia Denti to teach parents that knowing how to say no means understanding not only when and how it is necessary to do so, but also when it is better to give more weight to yes and freedom instead.
A mission that stems from the need to create and adopt an educational project/method aimed at respecting all parties involved and that is able to prepare our children to face the complexity of the world in which we live.

Social media are attention hacks, here are the 5 principles to combat them
This passage is excerpted from Impara a dire No, the book by Parentalife, a.k.a. Claudia Denti and Severino Cirillo, about their educational method. A method based on five principles, inherent in the acronym Umami: oneness, maturity, authenticity, wonder, independence.
“A day of our grandparents brought 30-40 stimuli and the brain worked at those rhythms there. If I open TikTok or YouTube I have continuous extreme stimuli and I can make the dopamine circuits explode, so that we need more and more stimuli,” comments Cirillo, ”and the more we get into this circle, the more the ability to make us wonder decreases.

The new fatherhood, being an authoritative guide rather than a great friend to children
“Today the parental role is substantially different from the one our mothers and fathers followed. A role that mixes, mistakenly, the parental function with that of friendship, building a less hierarchical relationship from the earliest years of life,” emphasizes Claudia Denti, creator, together with Severino Cirillo, of the Umami discipline, a method that places not the child but the parent at the center. But why is it wrong to become friends with one's children?”
“PARENTALIFE” platform offers eBook ”MAMISLEEP”
“It is a guide, contained in an eBook, that proposes strategies and good rules to regularize baby's sleep and solve the problem once and for all. Severino Cirillo, Ceo of Parentalife: “For our body, the foundations of well-being are: breathing hydration, diet and sleep. Sleep does almost everything related to foundation, so it fixes the body, it fixes the mind, it fixes learning. If we skip the foundation we risk the rest of the house not standing.”
Educating is a menu with 5 flavors. Here are what they are.
Becoming good parents is a complex art that, however, can be learned. Start by working on yourself, your own well-being and that of your children. This is well explained by Severino Cirillo and Claudia Denti, founders of the portal Parentalife and authors of the newly published book “Impara a dire no - Per crescere figli felici,” (Rizzoli, 224 pp, 17 euros).

Better to be a friendly dad or an authoritative dad? The experts' answer
There is no fixed, standard manual for defining the relationship between fathers and children; most often it is the result of the natural evolution of life, of the characters of individuals. Increasingly, however, in recent years, there has been the idea that parents should try to be friends with their children, with the goal of establishing an equal and friendly relationship that fosters sharing.
Gentle discipline, happy children, perhaps...but frustrated parents: here are the limits of an educational approach with much to improve on
In a world where the education of children was often associated with authoritarian methods or the classic Montessori method, “gentle discipline,” a psychological approach that subverts traditional educational paradigms, has been gaining great interest in recent years. A discipline that, by placing its focus on listening to and respecting the individual, rejects the system of rewards and punishments, proposing seemingly innovative alternatives. But what does it really mean to educate one's children by applying only the “way” of dialogue and gentleness? Does it really work or does it have contraindications?
Parents and children, what is the best method to manage family relationships: “Friends never, you risk parentification”

What is parentification and why it should be avoided.
Exterior night. The same skimpy T-shirts and skater pants worn with the crotch down, cigarette smoke billowing from both of their mouths, and, as a bottle of beer shuttles from one to the other, the tight repartee, peppered with laughter and the occasional swear word. Standing in line to get into a concert, they look like two friends, but instead they are mother and teenage daughter. Interior day. A man and a woman sitting at a table talk about the big economic problems they are going through, as if they were alone.
